Due to the current number of COVID-19 cases in the District of Columbia, spectators will not be permitted at Catholic University Athletics home events until Saturday, Jan. 15.
At that time, while fans will be allowed to return to the DuFour Center, the University will abide by the District of Columbia's "proof of vaccination" mandate as explained in a recent announcement from the Mayor's office (pages 16-20).
The mandate requires that spectators at indoor sporting events, 12 years of age and older, have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by Jan. 15. Beginning Feb. 15, spectators must show evidence of being fully vaccinated. Hard copies of or photos of legitimate vaccination cards (with photo ID) will be accepted.
Unvaccinated spectators who can provide proof of having received either an official medical or religious vaccination exemption from their primary care physician, parish or employer, may also gain entrance to the contest. Personal statements seeking exemption from this proof of vaccination mandate will not be accepted.
While inside the DuFour Center, everyone must wear a mask at all times, regardless of vaccination status. This excludes student-athletes actively participating in their sport.
No campus events will be permitted until after Monday, Jan. 24, with the exception of athletics which will be conducted following the strict protocols of the District of Columbia, NCAA and Landmark Conference.
Home events will continue to be made available on the Landmark Digital Network. Live stats for most sports will also be available.
Fans wishing to attend road games are subject to the policies at that particular institution. It is recommended that fans contact the host school in advance to confirm what may or may not be allowed prior to traveling to the event.
