Quick Stats on The Catholic University of America’s Class of 2023

The Catholic University of America celebrated 1,357 new alumni at the 134th annual Commencement ceremony May 13. The graduates included degrees conferred for the summer 2022 and fall 2022 semesters as well as degree candidates for the spring 2023 semester.

Today, the University includes 12 schools, all of which offer graduate and professional degrees. Ten schools — architecture and planning; arts and sciences; business; engineering; music, drama, and art; nursing; philosophy; professional studies; social service; and theology and religious studies — awarded undergraduate degrees. Catholic University is the nation’s only university with ecclesiastical faculties granting canonical degrees in canon law, philosophy, and theology.

Five honorary degrees were also conferred at the ceremony.

Here’s a look at the number of graduates from each school.

  • The Tim and Steph Busch School of Business conferred 183 bachelor’s degrees and 47 master’s degrees.
  • The School of Architecture conferred 43 bachelor’s degrees and 21 master’s degrees.
  • The Metropolitan School of Professional Studies conferred six master’s degrees and four bachelor’s degrees.
  • The Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art conferred 31 bachelor’s degrees, 13 master’s degrees, and nine doctoral degrees.
  • The Conway School of Nursing conferred 82 bachelor’s degrees, 19 doctoral degrees, 11 master’s degrees.
  • The National Catholic School of Social Service conferred four doctoral degrees, 56 master’s degrees, and six bachelor’s degrees.
  • The School of Engineering conferred 12 doctoral degrees, 67 master’s degrees, and 96 bachelor’s degrees.
  • The School of Canon Law conferred one doctoral degree and 16 licentiates.
  • The School of Arts and Sciences conferred 244 bachelor’s degrees, 31 master’s degrees, and 23 doctoral degrees.
  • The Columbus School of Law conferred 108 Juris Doctors, and five master’s degrees.
  • The School of Philosophy conferred 27 bachelor’s degrees, seven licentiates, six doctoral degrees, and five master’s degrees.
  • The School of Theology and Religious Studies conferred 51 master’s degrees, 26 bachelor’s degrees and 22 doctoral degrees, and four licentiates.
