Family and Friends of Students Admitted for the Fall 2023 Semester,

The below email was just sent to your first year student and we wanted to make sure you saw the information as well. Throughout the rest of the summer, whenever we share emails with your student we will also post the information here in this Admitted for Fall 2023 community in the Family Nest. You will receive these posts as part of your periodic newsletter from the Family Nest or you can visit the Family Nest at any time to view these posts as they are made. This is a very exciting time for you and your family. The next couple of months will go by very quickly. There is much that you, your family, and Catholic U will be doing to prepare for your arrival. Your journey at Catholic U will begin with Orientation. Orientation is a program for first-year students and transfer students that begins on Thursday, August 24, 2023. We urge you to download the Catholic U App onto your smartphone, as this will be where you can find a full schedule for Orientation 2023 once it becomes available in July. We know that there is a lot of information here and that having a guide to help you prepare for orientation is ideal, so be sure to check out the Student and Family Guide section in particular to walk you through everything you need to know leading up to Orientation.

As you continue your summer planning, we thought you would appreciate some great next steps. I'll also be emailing you periodically throughout the rest of the summer with additional steps that you can take to continue to prepare as we get closer to August.

Things To Do

1. Reset your Cardinal Credentials password

1. If you have not already done so, you will need to reset your password at password.catholic.edu
2. Cardinal Credentials allow access to campus resources like Cardinal Students, Cardinal Mail Google Workspace, Cardinal Learn (Blackboard), the campus Wi-Fi network, campus computers and other services.
3. New students should have received their Cardinal Station login information in the mail. If you have misplaced your username and password, you can contact our Technology Service Desk.

2. Enroll in Google 2-Step Verification

1. To access Cardinal Mail you will first need to turn on Google 2-Step Verification.
2. Google 2-Step verification is required to maintain access to your cardinal email. Failure to set it up will result in your email account being locked out.
3. Cardinal Mail offers storage for email and files, and provides the popular Google Gmail web mail interface. Google Docs, calendaring and contacts are also available through Cardinal Mail.

3. Register for Orientation

1. Registration for Orientation is now open, and the deadline to register is August 1.
2. For more information about Orientation and instructions on how to register, visit orientation.catholic.edu.

4. Housing and Dining Options (HOUSING)

1. If you have not yet applied for housing but would like to, you should do so as soon as possible as the deadline is May 15.
2. Apply for housing - Log into Cardinal Students and select the My Housing & Dining tile. Fall assignments for new first-year students are typically available via the My Housing & Dining tile by July 1st.
3. Meal Plan Selection - To select or change your dining plan, log into Cardinal Students and select the My Housing & Dining tile.
